Which filter goes with the Canon 18-55mm starter kit lens?
Basically I am buying the lens without the filter, and want to know which UV filter to get. And what are the benefits of a filter? (I am new to the photography field).
The only benefit it to keep you or someone else from scratching or otherwise damaging the front element of the lens
There is a marking on the lens that says something like a zero with a slash through it = 52 mm, 55 mm or 58 mm. That is the filter thread size
This is noted on all lenses and can be from 39 mm to 77 mm … even larger in some cases
